Government jobs after 12th

Government jobs after 12th are one of the most discussed topics among aspirants who have passed their class 12th recently. In a country like India where there is a huge craze for government jobs, students start preparing for various government jobs just after clearing their 12th Boards Examinations. 

The popularity of these public sector jobs is due to the fact that they are more secured and lucrative among all the other jobs available. They have a good salary package, handsome allowances, and many other perks attached to a job.

It is a well-known fact that to get a higher grade government job you have to be a graduate as the minimum educational qualification for most of the public sector jobs is graduation. However, there are few very good options available for class 12th passed aspirants in the government sector.

Here is the list of some government jobs after 12th.

NDA Exam

In NDA Exam, the full form NDA is National Defence Academy. NDA exam is one of the best options for an aspirant to get into a Group-A gazetted officer’s post with just class 12th pass educational qualification. This one of the few exams in India which allows you to become a Class-1 officer with this educational qualification.

This exam is conducted by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) which is held for recruitment for officers in tri-services of Indian Armed Forces. An aspirant can opt for Army, Air force, and Navy as per his choice in this exam. Only male candidates can opt to sit for this exam as females are not eligible for NDA Exam. This exam is held twice a year usually in the month of April and September.

This is a three tier-based exam for which you have to clear a written exam after which a merit list according to marks will be released as all the successful candidates will be called for a detailed interview procedure popularly known as SSB (Service Selection Board). And after successfully clearing this SSB procedure candidates will be called for Medicals.

At last, a final merit list will be published consisting of scores of both written exams and SSB interviews. All successful candidates will then be called to the National Defence Academy situated at Khadakwasla, Pune, Maharashtra.

10+2 TECHNICAL ENTRY

10+2 Technical entry is a special entry scheme for all those class 12th pass aspirants who want to join the Indian Army as a Technical Officer or Engineer. This entry scheme is only for those aspirants who have studied PCM (Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics) as their main subjects in class 12th. 

This exam or entry is the other great opportunity for a candidate to secure a Group-A gazetted officer’s post in the Indian Army which is an elite organization in itself to join. This entry is only for male candidates as female candidates are not eligible for it.

There isn’t any preliminary stage involved in this exam as candidates are selected on the basis of cut off PCM percentage based on PCM subjects in their class 12th for direct SSB process. Now the authorities have added another qualification barrier for this entry as from last year onwards JEE Mains Rank is compulsory for a candidate to compete in this exam.

After successfully clearing his SSB candidates are send for their medicals and at last, a final merit list prepared in accordance with the marks scored by candidates in their SSB process. After that, all the candidates are called to OTA-G (Officer Training Academy) situated at Gaya, Bihar for the commencement of their course.

B.Tech CADET ENTRY

B.Tech Cadet entry scheme is similar to 10+2 technical entry as this is a special entry for the Indian Navy. As here to candidates will join the Indian Navy as a Technical Officer. The entire procedure for this entry is the same as Technical Entry which we have discussed in the above paragraph.

The same shortlisting of candidates is done on the basis of PCM percentage and JEE Mains rank. This is too followed by the SSB procedure with a final merit list based on it.

The only difference with a technical entry is that the candidates will join the Indian Navy and their training will be held at INA (Indian Naval Academy) situated at Ezhimala, Kerala.

SSC CHSL Exam

In SSC CHSL Exam, CHSL stands for Combined Higher Secondary Level. This exam is fully conducted and administered by SSC (Staff Selection Commission). This is an exam held for Group-C clerical posts under various departments of the Government of India.

As far as the SSC CHSL exam pattern is concerned it is a three tier-based exam in which you have to clear a written objective type exam consisting of 200 marks. After clearing cut off for this stage you can appear for a Descriptive exam of 100 marks in which you have to write an essay and a letter of 50 marks each.

If you clear this second stage as well find your name in the merit list consisting marks of both tiers, you will be called for a skill test based on Typing where your typing speed will be accessed. This skill test is of qualifying nature as no marks from this third stage will be added to the final merit list. The required speed for typing is 35 wpm.

At last, a final merit list will be prepared in accordance with marks scored in the first two tiers and qualification in skill test. All successful candidates will be appointed under various union government departments.

SSC STENOGRAPHER Exam

SSC Stenographer Exam is one other exam conducted by SSC where stenographers are selected for various government departments in the Government of India. The stenographers are selected for both Group C & D services

This is a two tier-based exam where you have to clear preliminary objective type written exam. After clearing the cut off for the first stage you will be called for a second stage skill test which will be of qualifying nature. 

In this skill test, you have to clear the test with 100 wpm for Group C and 80 wpm for group D services. At last, a final merit list will be prepared in accordance with marks scored in the first stage and qualification in the skill test and after that, all successful candidates will be appointed under various union government departments as stenographers.

RRB NTPC

In RRB NTPC, RRB stands for Railway Recruitment Board and NTPC stands for Non-Technical Popular Category. This exam is conducted by Indian Railways for various Group B, C, and D posts in several railway departments. In this exam, there are some posts for which the minimum educational qualification is graduation while for some posts it is Class 12th passed.

We will discuss the posts for which the minimum education criteria is class 12th passed. Posts such as junior clerk cum typist, Accounts clerk cum typist, junior timekeeper, trains clerk, etc. 

This is a three tier-based exam in which there is a preliminary objective type written exam also called CBT-1 (Computer Based Test) which is of qualifying nature as its marks are not included in the final merit list. After clearing its cut off a candidate will be called for another objective type is written exam also known as CBT-2.

On successfully clearing these two stages you will be called for a typing test which will be of qualifying nature as its marks too will not be added in the final merit list. Then you will get a call for medicals. 

At last, a final merit list will be published on the basis of marks scored in CBT-2 and qualification in other stages. Later, all the successful candidates will be allotted posts under their preferred railway zones selected at the time of form filling.

RRB ALP

In RRB ALP, ALP stands for Assistant Loco Pilot. The recruitment of Assistant Loco Pilot (Group-C Posts) in Indian Railways is done through this exam conducted by Railways. 

This is a four tier-based exam as you have to clear computer-based tests CBT-1 and CBT-2. After successfully clearing these two stages a candidate will be eligible for the third stage which is CBAT (Computer Based aptitude test) which is conducted only for ALP candidates.

After that, a candidate is sent for Medicals and Document verification in their respective RRBs (Railway Recruitment Board) selected by him at the time of form filling. At last, a merit list will be prepared on the basis of marks scored in these stages. On completion of these formalities, a successful candidate will join as ALP in his selected railway zone.

RRB Technician

RRB Technician exam is conducted for various technical Group-C posts in Indian Railways. This exam is conducted by various RRBs around the country as per their vacancies. This exam is conducted with the RRB ALP exam.

The eligibility criteria for this exam are 10+2 with Physics and Mathematics or Diploma in Engineering. Further, every other process is the same as in the RRB ALP exam.

Air force X and Y Group

Air Force X and Y group exam is conducted for the recruitment of airmen in the Indian Air Force. X Group is the Technical wing while the Y group is the Non Technical wing of the Indian Air Force. The exam is conducted by the Air Force twice a year at various Airmen Selection Centers in the country. 

This is a three tier-based exam in which there is a preliminary objective type written exam followed by a Physical fitness test along with Adaptability Test-1 & Adaptability Test-2 in which candidates are selected on the basis of marks scored in the written test. For Group-X there is a special section in the written test where questions based on physics subjects are asked.

After successfully clearing these tests a candidate is sent for Medicals which is an aspect of military selection. Then, an All India final merit list is published with the names of all the successful candidates who will join the Indian Air force as an Airman.

NAVY SSR and AA

NAVY SSR and AA is a similar kind of an exam to Air Force X and Y for the induction of sailors in the Indian Navy. In this exam, AA (Artificer Apprentice) is the Technical post while SSR (Senior Secondary Recruit) is a Non Technical post.

This is a three-tier exam consisting written exam followed by Physical Fitness Test and Medical Examination. After successfully clearing all these stages, a final merit list is prepared in accordance with marks scored in the written test.

All the successful candidates who clear this final merit list will be called for basic training at INS Chilka (Indian Naval Ship) situated at Chilka, Odhisa.

Indian Army Bharti Rally

Indian Army Bharti rally is one other major recruitment drive for all those aspirants who want to join the Indian Army as a soldier. These recruitment rallies are organized by the Indian Army under various AROs (Area Recruitment Office).

These rallies are a three-tier process that includes a Physical Fitness test followed by medical examinations and a written test. The unique feature of this recruitment rally is that it conducts a Physical Fitness Test at the beginning followed by a written test at the later stages even after medical examination.

A candidate who qualifies physical fitness tests and medicals will be called for a written exam after that a final merit list is prepared in accordance with the marks scored in a physical fitness test and written exam. This is the standard procedure across the country for any Indian army soldier recruitment.

Police

The police department is the other major recruiter in the country as there are various posts available at the 12th level in this department. In India, the police are categorized into two categories one is CAPFs (Central Armed Police Forces) and State Police Forces.

CAPF includes Delhi Police, BSF, CRPF, SSB, CISF, and ITBP while State police forces include police forces from respective states and union territories in India.

Usually, the police departments follow three-tier criteria for selection for their personnel. For Technical posts and administrative posts, there is a written exam followed by physical fitness tests and medical examinations. 

While for all other non-technical or General Duty posts there is a standard procedure in which a Physical fitness test is taken followed by a medical examination and written test at the later stages.

At last, a final merit list is prepared in accordance with the marks scored in the physical fitness test and written exam. Then all the successful candidates are called for their basic training at their respective training centers located across the country.
